On 12 December 2017, Dr. Mark Pluymaekers, BISS Scientific Staff member and affiliated to Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, will give the lecture Artificial Intelligence and Relationship Management: The crucial role of communication.
In this lecture, we will explore how advances in artificial intelligence can help companies create productive and long-lasting relationships with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. Most of the scientific and managerial literature on this topic focuses on the possibilities offered by increasingly intelligent CRM systems. A crucial factor that is often overlooked, however, is communication. Successful relationship management is not just about delivering relevant information to your stakeholders, but also about showing genuine concern and establishing an emotional connection. Is this also possible in interactions that are (largely) automated, or is human involvement still required? This lecture will not provide a definitive answer to this question, but it will present some interesting new avenues of thought.
