On 1 January 2020 the AMICUS Research project will be launched. This group of researchers will use a data infrastructure called Personal Health Train (PHT) to improve healthcare with the use of ‘big data’. This infrastructure was previously developed at Maastricht University by our colleague André Dekker and his research team.
By analysing images of large groups of patients using artificial intelligence, the AMICUS consortium, led by André, wants to develop new knowledge that allows better tailor treatment. The research group will develop the technology with which images from various hospitals can be analysed in a manner that also respects the privacy of patients. The PHT data infrastructure will serve as the blueprint for this new technology.
Together with André, BISS works on several interesting healthcare use-cases with leading healthcare partners, like CZ and Zuyderland. André’s extensive expertise and research delivers a valuable contribution to these use-cases.
