Brightlands Institute for Smart Society (BISS) is a partner in the Techruption program at BSSC. In a collaborative Techruption project with the iLab Politie Limburg and the Center for Actionable Research of the Open University (CAROU), Brightlands Institute for Smart Society is developing NEXUS.
NEXUS envisions incorporating an audio-visual smart interface into the digital devices (e.g., smartphone) of community police officers (CPOs) in Limburg. The objective is improving efficacy and safety of CPOs’ work by (1) facilitating conversational engagement (via voice messages) and (2) providing personalized, intelligent feedback through smart information retrieval and data visualization graphics and audio.
NEXUS is a Techruption project is currently in the experimentation stage that aims to design and test an initial prototype. The project is part of an ambitious roadmap for developing and incorporating innovative technological advances within the organization and functioning of the Police.
Stay tuned for upcoming BISS’ updates about NEXUS!
