BeNeDrone is a cross-border research and innovation project aimed at unlocking the potential of medical drones for emergency and healthcare logistics in the Southern Netherlands and Flanders. The project addresses the legal, logistical, and societal challenges of using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to deliver critical medical goods like AEDs, blood, and organs quickly and efficiently across national borders.
This project aims to reduce emergency response times and improve patient outcomes, provide a framework for safe, efficient, and lawful drone deployment, enable future scaling and replication of drone operations across other EU border regions, prepare regions for upcoming EU drone regulations (e.g., Drone Strategy 2.0).
BeNeDrone is a pioneering project that prepares the Southern Netherlands and Flanders for the responsible, cross-border use of medical drones in real-world emergency scenarios.
